I played my first two games at the weekend.

First for school. I won the toss and batted purely because i overheard their coach telling their captain to bat if they won the toss.

The plan backfired a bit with us being bowled out for 59 in 19.4 overs. I top scored with 10. It really was the bad. We had four of our top 6 missing on Duke of Edinburgh trips so we really needed to bowl well. And we did! We bowled them out for 48 with their top scorer being 15.

I bowled 5-2-6-4 (6 runs 4 wickets) and the other opener bowled 5-2-4-3! 7-12 between us in 10 overs.

On Sunday my U15 match got cancelled but I got a last minute call up for the Sunday firsts. We got 182/9 in 40 overs. I got 22, but that was overshadowed by my mate who also got called up despite being crap at both batting and bowling. He came in at 11 and got a 72 run partnership with him getting 31, a career best score.

Anyway, cut to the chase, they won with an over and a ball to go. i bowled crap. (7-1-25-1) including 2 sixes!

Next weekend I will play mens 2nd's or 3rd's on Saturday, U15 on Sunday, U16 match on bank holiday and an Essex match on Tuesday. (I had my first trial on Monday and this will be my outdoor trial. Gunna be playing upto 4/5 matches a week every week until July now.

How did anyone else get on?
