Annoying bug after exiting

This is perhaps Dan's department, but I'd like to know if anyone has the same problem.

When I exit the game it seems to bugger up the display on Windows. Fonts become huge, colour is lost or abnormal (sometimes to the point of looking like a colour negative) and the computer has running problems (the hard drive seems to run relentlessly). The game usually cannot be re-started later - there is always some error message or another. I end up needing to re-boot the computer to return the graphics to normal.

This used to happen on my desktop as well so it seems to not be a hardware problem. It used to happen mainly when I'd ctrl-alt-delete out of bad matches (I'll admit that I do it occasionally - I refuse to lose games when the sim decides I can't make 5 runs in 3 overs to win a one-dayer) and I thought maybe it was deliberately designed into the game to discourage such cheating, but even exiting normally does it now.

Are there any patches or anything else for this? It's a real PITA.

Cheers

Maybe corrupted file?

Don't know of any specific issues of what you mention but if you are using Ctrl-Alt-Del to force exit the program that quite possible a file has got corrupted. All I can say is try uninstalling and re-installing. If you ever just switched off the PC rather than Ctrl-Alt-Del and shut down then it could be a system file has got corrupted in which case might need a Windows reinstall.

Daniel.

Fixed

Got it - I downloaded a newer version of the SIS driver. Perhaps one of the game patches needed a newer version. The game seemed to have problems handing back default resolution and colour quality settings.

It's worth mentioning that the game otherwise runs fine on my laptop which has a 64MB onboard video controller, whcih is apparently not overly suitable for the game.

Thanks for the reply Dan.
