4th Freedom Rally kicks off at Gadani
The fourth Freedom Rally has kicked off here, as the 42 drivers participating in the race sped out.
It is for the first time that this rally is being held in Pakistan under the aegis of the global organization of motor sports, Federation of International Automobiles (FIA).
The drivers participating in five categories are also drawn from Multan, Lahore and Bhawlpur, while the FIA UAE circuit representative, Hamood Muhammad Hamid is conducting the rally. This rally has been cut to one-day events instead of three-day due to recent rain-lashes here, while the 230 km long track has also been shortened to 178 km.

Shabbir Iqbal wins CNS Open Golf title
Shabbir Iqbal has won the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) Golf Open in a convincing manner here with a one-under par 71 in breezy conditions.
The Islamabad golfer won the championship by eight strokes after having conquered the wind-swept KGC course with an enviable ease, finishing the 54-hole event with an aggregate of eight-under par 208.
It was Shabbir�s fifth title-winning triumph in six appearances at the KGC and he achieved it in style.
Sindh�s Ali Sher capped his tournament with a steady 72 to win the CNS Amateur crown ahead of second day�s leader Muhammad Rehman. Ali, making his bones as a leading amateur, won the title with an aggregate of 22, two shots ahead of runner-up Rehman.
Ghani Khan reigned supreme in the Rs 50,000 Senior Professionals event with a round of 74, ahead of second-placed Muhammad Shafiq.
Shireen Khan won the ladies title while Syed Asher Ali was crowned as the junior champion. Tahir Karamat won the veterans titles while Zafar Mehmood claimed the top honours in the CNS Invitation Match.
Admiral M Afzal Tahir, Chief of Naval Staff, gave away the prizes at the prize distribution ceremony of the tournament.

11 decisive matches played on the 2nd day of ICTT
Independence Cup Tennis Tournament (ICTT)�s second day witnessed 11 decisive matches played at the Pakistan Tennis Complex here.
Those reaching quarter-final of the ongoing tournament in the boys under-17 event included: Ahmad Aslam, Ahmad Chaudhry, Zain Abbas, Jibran-ul-Huque, Usman Ali and Faraz Ali Raja, while in the under-15: Salman Bin Salim, Farhan Shahid and Salman Khalil qualified for the quarter-final besides Ehtasham-ul-Huque in the under-13 pre-quarter-final edged his opponent out to reserve his place in the quarter-final.
